What our Clients Say

the best measure of our work is what people say once it's over

 Introduction

We could tell you what our training does — but it means more coming from the people who've actually sat through it, taken it back to their teams, and put it into practice. Here's some of what delegates and clients have told us.
"Robin's training programmes are far more than just theory — he advises you and works with you to put techniques into practice. The leadership programme has significantly improved the leadership skills within our business. I would highly recommend him as a trainer and a coach."
"I created a simplified agenda for attendees and a more detailed Chair's version for myself, which helped me stay focused and keep the meeting moving. The pledge has already had a positive impact by helping me plan and chair meetings in a more structured, focused and time-conscious way."
"The course was a godsend — it taught me to reflect on myself as a manager and to consider the strengths and weaknesses I brought to the role. Robin brought a mixture of charm and experience which linked up well with the formal information presented, allowing learning to reach a deeper level."

Robin has planned and implemented two bespoke, modular training programmes to meet the training needs of the business; Project Management skills and a Leadership programme. Robin's training is structured, yet flexible and he is willing to adapt his style and content to meet business needs. Having been a delegate on the Leadership programme, I have been thoroughly impressed by Robin's style of teaching and his extensive knowledge of business. His training programmes are far more than just theory, he advises you and works with you to put techniques into practise and has taught us many valuable management techniques that can be used immediately in the workplace. The leadership programme has significantly improved the leadership skills within our business and has strengthened us as a leadership team to drive the business forward. Robin is extremely likeable, fun and most importantly gets results. I would highly recommend him as a trainer and a coach.
Huge thanks to Robin for a well organised and enjoyable ILM course. The lessons themselves have been highly engaging, with a good balance between theory and practical application. Robin always took the time to ensure that concepts were pitched at a relevant and challenging level for each individual in the group. I have found my learning to be immediately actionable, particularly in structuring my thinking around activity prioritisation and team planning.

After a year as a novice manager I was struggling, I was realizing that years of experience in an industry were not enough to guarantee competence and confidence as a manager. The ILM5 course was therefore a gods send, it taught me to reflect on myself as a manager and to consider the strengths and weaknesses that I brought to the role. Robin was pivotal in this process. He brought to the sessions a mixture of charm and experience which linked up well with the formal information presented in the sessions. Additionally Robin was able to challenge members of the group and this allowed learning to reach a deeper level.

AND

I just wanted to send a quick note to share how recently I used learnings from the last Aspire session on Presentation skills into practice last week at my volunteering work.

I was in India and hosted a meet up of LSE Women's Alumni Network (that I lead) in Delhi where over 60 women turned up. I was due to address them. It was few days after the Aspire session.

After the Aspire session, I scratched off my notes that I was working on and started fresh using the mindmap and excel sheet technique to map my thoughts and aspirations for the session. That helped create a rough plan of what, why, how and dissect my remarks into introductions, conclusions etc. sections.  I am pleased to share that It went really really well. I spoke for 7-8  minutes which felt ages in my head when I was planning but time flew when I saw faces brimming with engagement during my speech. I received so much positive feedback during the event and even after it was over. And better, people actually responded to my call for action over emails and messages which would not have been possible if my pitch didn't hit the notes I was intending to.

Thank you so much for imparting so many fantastic skills in such flawless manner. I am very grateful, inspired and confident to try more of them and looking for more opportunities to practice.

The 2 days with Robin this week were great, I really enjoyed it, learned loads and have so much I now need to think about in the real world!
I used the pledge when planning and chairing my Team Managers’ meeting last Thursday. I prepared a structured, time-specific agenda, removed “Any Other Business”, and used Copilot to help build the agenda around our PDR objectives, team action plans and previous meeting minutes. I also sent the agenda out in advance, so managers had time to prepare.

Overall, the new approach worked well. I created a simplified agenda for attendees and a more detailed Chair’s version for myself, which helped me stay focused and keep the meeting moving. We also used a timekeeper and Copilot to support the minutes. Feedback from the managers was positive, particularly that the agenda helped the meeting flow and prevented us from spending too long on one topic.

The main challenge was that two managers arrived around six minutes late. As only four of us were due to attend, I agreed to restart the meeting 15 minutes later, which meant we lost some time. This is an area I recognise needs further improvement, particularly around punctuality and starting meetings promptly.

I am now applying the same approach to my meetings this week, including group supervision with carers, where I have already issued the agenda in advance and prepared my own Chair’s notes.
Overall, I feel the pledge has already had a positive impact by helping me plan and chair meetings in a more structured, focused and time-conscious way.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere thanks for all the guidance and encouragement you’ve provided over the past eight months. Participating in the “Aspirational Leadership” programme has truly been an enriching experience for me. The sessions struck a wonderful balance between practical learning and open discussion, which has been both engaging and insightful.

Reflecting on my journey, my role has evolved significantly in the last couple of years. Previously, I found myself in a bit of a “performance bubble,” with limited interaction beyond my immediate responsibilities. Now, I’m collaborating and networking much more, getting involved in drafting Policy and Strategy documents, and building connections with colleagues across the board. This shift has helped me find my voice and the confidence to contribute more openly than I ever have before.

I’m grateful for the many techniques and tools I’ve picked up through this programme—there are so many I’ll be carrying forward in my day-to-day work. In fact, I’ve already recommended this training to other staff who I know would benefit just as much as I have.

I also wanted to apologise for my little “brain freeze” at the end of the last session! I should have known better than to check a new email just as you were about to ask me a question—it completely threw me off for a few minutes. Lesson learned for next time!

Thank you once again for your ongoing support and for delivering such a valuable and motivating programme. Wishing you every success with the rest of the sessions.

I am looking forward to displaying the “gold” award with pride!
